Normally flux is added to whatever surface that is to be soldered in order for the solder to flow more readily. If it's copper wires then just dip it in the flux before applying heat, solder and wash off the excess. The rinse with acetone or alcohol is important because the flux residue will cause the wire to become brittle after time and a "cold" solder joint is left. A cold joint is one without continuity. |
