Is there a repair for these? Of all the great things about this tractor, this seems to be a weak spot. Feels like I'm stepping on something cheap.

It"s not the greatest design, but it does work well if the entire
throttle assembly is maintained properly.
I"ve found that disassembling the linkage under the 430s
battery box, making sure all parts moving freely, and ensure
the springs are all in place is a good start. Then make sure
the ball joints that attach to the governor "T" up front are free.
Finally, inspect and replace (if necessary) the bushing where
the vertical rod connects to the foot throttle. - Joe |

Ahh! Mine does not have a bushing! Must have disappeared somewhere along the way. I was thinking of making a more robust bracket of some sort. Thanks!
A few more questions:
1)What grade of steel is the drawbar made of?
2)Is there a way to adjust the output of the generator? (only getting 13V,the dash LED is not going out, and not sure how to proper check the regulator (belt is good and wiring is all new))
Any other "tricks or tips" for this model (430/441 gas 1962) are greatly appreciated. I am more familiar with little red bellies and ferggies. |
