|

Bolt that holds clutch to motor shaft broke off one half inch in motor shaft.I had this off 5 or 6 hrs. running time befor this happened.the electric clutch is made so it is hard to install wrong, deep recess in clutch to keep heavy washer centered, did not hit anything, was mowing in normal grass, bolt that broke was original one.I feel that it was something that i did as it has been running for about 10 yrs. befor real job to repair.any suggestions will be appreciated, thanks dick |

I think the bolt is a grade #8. Which is very hard.
A good shop can drill it out, it will be labour intesive, but worth it if the mower is worth the cost.
A good shop should have left handed drill bits, which will make it easier to extract the broken bolt. |
