The tank on my MH44 is leaking out the studs. Are they open on the backside, or is something else wrong?

One of my 35's had a leak underneath the front plate where the 2 spring bolts are. I used sealer on the outside and now it's ok.

They are not open to the inside of the tank.

You can solder it with a soldering Iron. Heat iron with torch and go to tank and heat around studs. This keeps all sparks or flame away from gas fumes. Radiator shops always had them years ago. Local shop here still has a iron and he repairs for me.
