Found a 698 that looks to be in good shape. I've never seen one before this one. Are they good tractors? Are parts available for them. I'd be using it to rake/bale hay.

Yes good tractors, but better to find a 698T or a 699. The 698 had the Perkins 318 4 cyl engine but this time the head gasket issues were sorted out! The later model 698T had the turboed version of the 236 engine and was a fantastic tractor, much more lively than the 698 for road hauling. The 699 however was the sweetest with the Perkins 6.354, loads of power and torque. Be careful if your tractor is FWA as the seal in the axle swivel can leak if not kept well greased. Also check that the PTO is stopping. Go for the 12 speed 3 lever gearbox, it is bombproof!
