240 steering parts

I have a friend that has a 240 utility and broke his steering gear. Anybody got parts

if all else fails, have them check with CaseIH and be prepared to spend more than they thought.

Looked at my 240 parts catalog and think you are talking about the 50 tooth gear for the 240 International tractor which is part no. 369696R1. This is for standard steering and it might be something else if it is a power steering model. If 369696R1 is what you are needing it doesn't appear CaseIH maintains it in their stock any longer and it is not available at the Parts Depot either. Other then a salvage tractor part it appears your best bet will be through one of the several folks who deal in IHC NOS parts from closed dealer inventories. Posting the part no. you are needing is a big help in threads of this nature - if you don't have a parts catalog use the on-line CaseIH one to identify the needed part so we can be sure what you are really looking for, Hal.
