Our gas 33 shutoff the other day, upon investigation theres no spark and the shaft in the distributor doesnt turn when cranking the engine.I pulled the dist. and the the gear is ok and it turns freely.Could someone provide me with a diagram of the engine or give me some pointers on what to check next?

You say if turns freely.

As the others said does the shaft turn when you turn the gear. There is a roll pin that holds the gear to the shaft and very common for that pin to shear.. If it is not that then you best be getting an I-T manual for it because your going to have to find out why the cam shaft does not turn

will if your sure the pin is not sherd then the only two things it can be broken cam shaft or gears are striped or nut holding gear to shaft backed off and gear fell off from cam. but first made real sure gear is tight on shaft of dis.you can check to see if cam is turning by looking down the hole with a light while someone turns it over.do you have a hyd. pump on this tractor if so then it could very well be the cam is broke they will brake the cam because the pump runs off the cam gear have changed a few over the years
