Ok so I tried a few things with my tractor to try figure out my prob. Changed stroke control valve and seat, set pump press at 2250 I have 7gal/min flow. Works fine for about an hr and then bam! no hyd! or steering. Shut engine off restart get hyd again. Checked rockshaft housing for spraying oil, nothing in there. Not sure where to look from here. |

Drain the trans oil and pull the sump screen, it's located behind the filter running cross ways in the bottom of the case, a plug with a place for a 1/2" square drive in it...see what you find,,if you find what looks like an old wool coat chewed up it's brake lining, carefully clean the dirt out and be careful not to "scoop" up anything when you re-install the screen.. |

Okay i just re-read your post about an hour,,there is a strong chance that you have a cracked pressure tube in the trans. pump area, when they get a crack in them they will open up a bit when the oil warms up dumping the trans. pump oil back into the case letting the main pump starve for oil, when you shut it of for a bit it will settle down and not leak as bad till it heats up again, I have seen this several times,,a weak trans pump can add to the problem,,I'm thinking your gonna be splitting it at the transmission/ clutch housing ,,,but before you do try to see if the problem changes any with the PTO on or in hi,,or low range |

It may change the way it happens with the PTO working, just a way of isolating things before you split..and I'm afraid that will be next Darn it.. |
