I have several Bolens 17 and 18 HP Garden Tractors that all get used regular and steady...

The old "QT 17" has an Onan engine and needs either a re-Build kit or a replacement Carburetor..

NAPA does not have the Kits (and WOW, the Prices.!)

Could anyone help me find these parts..??

I cannot get the Needle to work properly..it either wants to Flood or Starve to the point it quits..
I tried an Electric fuel pump and it flooded (4lb)..
I have worked on the Needle TIP and worked it to a good taper, like it should have been. (Rubber tip)..
Any suggestions about another carburetor to use..?
This engine is a REAL Powerhouse..I have the Large-Bore Commercial engine block and want to USE it more..!!!

Thanks..!
Ron.

Parts for Onans have allways been overpriced and they aren't getting any better.
One stop gap measure would be to install a inline fuel shut off and adjust the flow to a trickle, that might work. I bought a Cub Cadet several years ago and wondered why it had two shut offs on it, then I found out the carb always wanted to flood. I installed a new float and adjusted it, that stopped the flooding, wasn't even the needle and seat after all.

I forgot to mention: check your float before ordering parts, and if it is a foam version, order a brass one along with the needle and gaskets. foam + alcohol = frustration!

Try Max Thompson. Over on Smokstak Onan section. He just bought the inventory of a Onan dealer. He may have a kit.
