I bought a 64 706d over the weekend. It has been sitting for bout 3 years. It has 1386 original hours on it. i put 2 12 volt batts in it and all it would do is crank over so i pulled it bout 100 feet and it started.it run pretty good with a slight miss sound. i drove it home about 20 miles never missed a beat. when i got home i shut it off and tryed to restart it warming the glow plugs and all it would do was smoke. so i pulled valve cover off to see if i had a stickin valve but didnt so i went ahead and adjusted them 2 or 3 of them were a little tight. then i tested the glow plugs and all 6 are HOT but still will not start just smoke . only thing i havent done yet was check the static timming. im kinda lost now olny other thing i can think is the couple tight valves are burnt so lost of compression no start. any info input would be greatly appreciated thanks Scott
