Hi gang.
It"s me again--mr. needy.

I"m trying to find a source for the mechanical advance springs in my distributor. I'm rebuilding the 830 CK with the Prestolite 1BT-4403. Mine are all stretched out. Even better, I"d like to find a distributor rebuilder or one for exchange.
So far around here, all I get is "whats" a distributor?"...slim

Gentlemen, thanks so much for your kind offers and leads. After my first knee-jerk reaction of screaming for HELP on this forum, I drove and called around here in town and finally found a guy who will rebuild it!

After getting the eyes-rolled-look , from 4 shops with guys under the age of say---half a century, I finally followed a couple of leads to a fellow to a junky-looking old auto and truck yard accross town. He took one look at the thing, took a suck on his nasty cigar, grabbed it, checked the play in the shaft with his huge fingers, looked me straight in the eye and said "Case?"
I nodded, and he said "yeah, I think I got a bin of these springs and weights, I should be able to fix you up in a day or two."
Eureka! They're still out there.

If it don't work out, I won't hesitate to give you guys a call...slim

Ah, yes, you've found my kind of guy!! Too bad, someday they're all gonna be gone! Saw in the paper today a fine gentleman by the name of Gene Knadle passed away, 82. That guy forgot more about Mopars and mechanical stuff in general than I,ll ever know. Met him when I was 19, I'm 64 now.
