friend of mine says you have to have constant down preasure on cylinder to hold drill in the ground.why cant you just drop it down and leave it?

If you are talking about a haybuster notill drill. I have had one for many years, you do not need constant pressure as long as you have good seals in the cylinder and your tractor valve doesn't leak by. I actually have more trouble with it planting to deep. I put seed firmers on mine to keep the beans from bouncing around and out of the seed slot. I'd really like to find a set of Vee closing wheels for it. Jim

yes Jim that's what I ment so he has a cylinder problem. it has been on two different tractors and does the same thing
