Mr. Kauffman and crew proved they could successfully run an indoor pull in the farm show arena and still maintain air quality. Good fans, no diesels, and no tractors running in building except on scales or pulling. GOOD JOB! Thanks to the fellows that helped my friend load his tractor. Art

When was this pull? I'm only about an hour and a half away but didn't hear about it. Sorry I missed it. Would have loved to bring my DC up.

This was the first antique tractor pull I have attended and have to say it was much more interesting than I would have imagined. The pull, part of the Pennsylvania Farm Show http://www.farmshow.state.pa.us/default.aspx, was well run, didn't lag in dead time, and for the indoor Equine Arena, was not detractacted by engine fumes. Talking with the East Coast Pullers http://www.angelfire.com/extreme2/eastpulling/keystonenationals on display in Weis hall, they made an excellent change with a bank of large exhaust fans at the end of the arena in the overhead door. Air was clean and I didn't hear one negative comment about fumes or headaches. The old Johnny Poppers are impressive but the crowd cheered when the very last puller of the eveing, an Oliver 880, out pulled all the other tractors. The only concern, these tractors were in everyday use when I was in high school, so if they are considered antiques....well...where does that leave quite a few of us?

The keeping tractors running to a minimum is something that all indoor pulls need to enforce strickly. I wish they would.
