I worked on the 300 yesterday. Removed the big screw at bottom of carb and gas ran out. turned gas off and removed bottom plug. Flushed with carb cleaner removed screw at top and flushed that with cleaner. Put screws back and it starts right up . Made adjustments after it warmed up.
Not sure how far the bottom screw should go in? it has a little smoke that it did'nt have before. ..But she will eat a hill up in fifth gear and no miss or sputter!

The answer is to just minimize that smoke. At the same time not so far lean that it spurrers or hesitiates on opening the throttle. It is good to have a cutting edge on smoke no smoke when pulling a plow or disk, but for non tillage the smoke should be gone by about 1/2 turn in on the bottom front screw. Jim |

Chalk that one up in the win column! Nice 300, matching Safemarks on the rear... I wish they still made Safemark tires. |

Max power for the 300 carb, if original, main jet screw is 5 turns out, can be turned in some for lighter loads. It is not adjusted like the one on the H. Carb was changed on the Super H. |
