I have a pony that has a missing serial number plate.The engine plate is still there.Is there anyway to tell the year off the engine plate?

The engine serial numbers were never tracked by Massey production and are not of any use in dating a tractor.My data book does not say if they stamped the serial number anywhere else on the tractor other than the serial number plate.
