Can anyone tell me something about it? This is the casting from my 140 motor. No, chassis serial is not legible.

Your engine may have been replaced. You need to measure the sleeve length and the diameter of the old sleeves at the seal. Hal

Is that the stamped engine number? If so, it is 1961 and the cast date codes that mkirsch asked about should end with "G".

Look on the engine block for a flat machined surface under No1 cylinder near the radiator. Your engine serial number should be there. It may be covered with layers of paint and dirt. Hal

91242 sounds like a serial number to me.

Was that stamped into a flat spot on the engine block?

You can find the casting codes like I described earlier, and pictured by rhtx55, on every casting on the tractor. They won't all be the same but they should be within a few weeks of each other.

What you can tell from the casting codes besides age:
If you find the casting date codes vastly different, odds are you have a "Frankentractor" or one built from parts of other junk tractors. If one casting code is vastly different from the others, odds are the original was broken and replaced.
