I"m putting a rebuilt engine into my Cockshutt 30 restoration project and I need some advice on how much to shim those front motor mounts.

Jud, First is this a rebuilt engine using the original block? Rocko.

Not the original block from this tractor, what about front motor mounting bracket? Phil Heisey would be the man to talk to. He replied to a post above about a Oliver 88 steering seal. Hopefully he will chime in and advise you. I could tell you what I'd do but honestly I'd be quessing. I do have my engine out of my 30 right now and I will just re-insall shims where they came from when it goes back in making sure things are not binding as I do so. You may have to adjust # of shims depending on how things line up as engine goes back in. Do you have a manual? Not sure it's covered in there. I will check and get back to you if someone more knowledgable doesn't step up and help you out. Rocko.
