Sorry I can't tell you how many gals but I made a nice little pump out of a furnace oilburner that I picked out of the steel pile at the dump stripped it apart except for the motor,a section of the frame and pump.It sits nicely on top of the 5 gal pail with a 1/4" ID. hose thru a drilled hole in the pails cover and a 8' section of hose to reach up to the fill hole.Plug er in and reach for a tall frosty. I like it so well I use it to fill the tractor as well neat and no spills.I use the same tractor hydro/transmision oil. |

The manual says to fill with 4-1/2 gallons.
