U, E, A tractors on oilfield well cleaning rigs had the fast gearing, 15 and 30 MPH gears were available. |

Model U, 1931. In partnership with Mr Firestone, Allis Chalmers hired race driver Barney Oldfield to demonstrate "Air Tires". Was clocked at over 60 mph.

A WC with a High Low box and 38 in tires should be good for almost 30. |

Of the Allis Chalmers I have used, the WD-45 seemed to roll along about the best, D-14 does pretty good, D17 and 170 are quite slow, as well as the B and C. |
