I am having trouble removing the pinion gear from the shaft on my 1600 wide front. As per the manual I loosened the puller bolt until it comes in contact with the snap ring then put as much torque on it as I can with a breaker bar and the pinion will not come free. Am I missing something or are there any tricks to getting it off? Thanks |

I had that problem on my 1850. I had the radiator and grill off at the time. With the bolt srewed out tight against the gear, whack it a few time with a big hammer and punch, then try to tighten it some more. When you get it out, be sure to replace the quad ring while it's apart. Chris |
