Chris,
Seems to be an abundance of double posts lately. I had one the other day - and pretty sure I did not hit submit button more than once. Almost seems like it is something with the site, rather than those who are posting. |

I think classic...
spend 90-95 percent of my time there because I like the layout best. |

I'll think about how that might happen and at the same time, go check our lock code that is supposed to prevent normal duplicates from pressing the back arrow and double clicking. The lock code doesn't currently work (may never have). |

Hello Chris,
It happens to me as well. I noticed that when I view the post with a picture posted and I go back to edit I get two pictures every time. Text is not duplicated. I think that if I keep doing that, more pictures are added every time. May be a clue for you?.
Thanks for the site and your good work!
Guido. |

That is a different problem I wasn't aware of, but I can see how it is happening. I'll work on it later today. I never thought about the impact of edit on photos. I'll look at in an hour or so. Thanks for the heads up.
The other double posting problem has been with us since day one with classic view. The type of file involved is perfectly valid to repost over and over and our software doesn't catch that even though we try. The client does the posting though, either because of back arrow, or because of a server slowdown that makes it appear the session didn't go through. |

Hello Chris,
It has been happening to me for awhile, I guess I should have mentioned to you earlier.
At times I posted from scratch just so I would not have double pictures.
Hope you can get it fixed..........Thanks
I guess you know it is on classic view?

This one is actually pretty obvious to me now that you've pointed it out. I never put two and two together. A classic post, an edit and the photo is duplicated. It's touchy to fix but I think I can today. |

I've been trying to recreate this for a bit. What you describe makes sense and I thought I'd know what it was. But so far, I'm not able to make it happen. I've tried this:
Post to modern uploading a photo, immediately edit and change the text on modern. That seems to come out right on both sides.
Then I posted to classic (which I think is what you were talking about), uploaded a photo, and completed the post. Then I went over to modern and edited the text. The edit came through but the photos weren't duplicated.
In both cases I used the Advanced posting options "Upload Photo".
What am I doing differently than what you were doing. First step in fixing is always duplicating it.
Thanks,
Chris |

Guido,
When you do the original post, are you putting the html in to do the embedded photo or letting the classic view upload function put it in for you. I wonder because that is one way I can see it might do it. I still haven't been able to duplicate the problem.
Thanks,
Chris |
