got a 2240 and sparks and metal shavings just started blowing out the inspection covers on the left ahead of your feet :)
I've had her split in the rear before to do the independtent pto clutch packs.
clutch is now out.. i'm kinda thinking seized TO bearing?
any other ideas. just rolled it into shop to start taking stuff off in prep for a split.. |

More than likely seized TO brg from lack of grease. That grease zert is easy to overlook. |

where do you JD guys get parts at.. other than the dealer? :)
TO bearing was in pieces.
input shafts are fine.. needs a clutch ( 2 fingers ground off completely.. 3rd one simply ruined )
gonna need a stasrter too.. nose is cracked on this one. |

I don't repair tractors but maybe some of the technicians that do will testify. I'd guess A&I for parts. I didn't see a clutch/PP listed for a 2240 with ind pto on YT parts.
I found these parts for SN < 349,999 on A&I but it stated contact dealer for clutch disk.
A-AL120023 PRES PLATE,11-IN.,SGL,CAST IRON ADD 486.61 USD 486.61 USD
A-AR43065 RELEASE BEARING ADD 31.24 USD 31.24 USD

A&I and Hy-Capacity are where I get most of my aftermarket parts as I am a dealer for both. Check their websites for dealers near you. Most independent repair shops will be able to get what you need. This website also offers parts. |

Parts catalog indicates JD stopped installing grease zert on 2040 @ SN < 224347
Parts key # 13 T27178 LUBRICATION FITTING
