How many of the 460 hi utilities were made? About how many of those were of the gasoline variety and how many were diesel? A friend and I are working on one of these and are in need of several parts and hoping to find that there was enough made that maybe we can find a few still around in a salvage yard to get parts from. |

I think I asked this same question a few years ago, and there didn"t seem to be any verifiable answer. The short answer is, not many. I had an IH collector tell me that the general estimate was around 1400 units, in the Hi-utility.
We bought one that had been sitting outside for 10+ years, and the block and head were cracked. Parts are indeed hard to find, but you sometimes you get lucky. Ours currently has a 303 combine engine in it and really runs great. |

I think the first tractor I ever operated was a 460 H-U lpg, total lemon of a tractor. It was available for five years, one years production records is missing, the other four years show a total of 13 lp tractors produced. |

I don't have time to look up the data, but the total was around 600. |
