I only use carquest batteries. They are a little more money but last longer and seldom leak. A group 26 battery will fit in a 6v box.

There is only 2 or 3 companies that make battery so be it a O'Reilly's or a NAPA or where ever pretty much the same. That said buy the biggest CCA one that will fit and you should be good to go till it dies

I have a 2000 Ford Explorer I bought from my brother 4 years ago(at 24000 miles). Still has the original battery. My brother was the original owner and swears he never changed it. I will have to check to see what brand it is.

If it is the original battery it will be a Motorcraft.

Wonder who makes Motorcraft batteries? The one on my 2001 F150 lasted 9 years I can't get much over 5 yrs. out of other brands. I used a $39 Walmart battery when I converted my 8N to 12v it's 5yrs. old now and still working.

I'm not sure who makes the Motorcraft batteries for Ford, but they are good batteries. I have a Motorcraft battery here that is 11 years old and is still working.

I stopped buying NAPA and WalMart. I do have a 8 Yr old Delco in a 2004 GM vehicle and I had a Motorcraft that lasted 7 yrs. Hard winters and hot summers.
