Hello, I"m looking at a 4020 to buy and in speaking to the former owner he told me after it was warmed up and under load it would surge a little. The dealer changed the injector pump but no luck. Any ideas? I hate to buy into a big problem.
Thank you |

We had one years ago that got to doing weird stuff like that and its cam gear was so worn you could move the flywheel like 18 degrees before the timing marks in the injection pump would move.I think its supposed to be like no more than 3 degrees. This tractor also heated after an hour of pulling.New cam gear fixed it all. |

It could be the injector pump, or an air leak in the diesel lines going to the pump. |

Was there noise coming from the front of the engine? I think this might be an issue with my 4320. |
