Hi Steve welcome to your British built B414tractor. Most of the B414 here in the UK have the diesel engine so I know nothing about the petrol engine. The geabox and rear axle oil is all in the same compartment and uses 90wt gear oil. The level plug is just in front of the left hand foot plate and you fill it through the plug by the gear lever. The hydrulic unit under your seat drains out of the plug on the R.H. rear of the unit. The filling plug is at the R.H. top rear of the hyd. unit. the level for the hyd. unit is the bottom of the filler hole threads with the lift arms in the down position. If when adding oil to this unit and you notice the lift arms are in the up position DO NOT push the lift lever down without the plug in the hole as you will get drowned in hyd. oil-been there-done that. The system uses IH Hytran oil. I own a B414 diesel Ialso own a B250, 1940BN, 1942W6, 1945H, and a 1949M witch was the last M to come to the UK before IH started to build the M here at Doncaster. MJ

Thanks Really going to enjoy the challenge of this tractor.Biggest struggle is to get oil bath working.Dont want to cut on hood and put air cleaner on top...Very hard to find parts for..After this phase of trans and getting filtered air to carb.It looks like a water pump replacement... not even tryed to find it yet
Thanks for all info

I am using piece of aircraft scat tubing. It is orange red in color and I got it at the local airport maintenance shop. It can make a sharp bend and is heat resistant.

It comes with a spring inside. I remove about 1/2" from the carb end and 1" from the breather end. Get 2 1/4" and it will squeeze down to the breather end with a hose clamp. It is thin but strong. It can be bought from McMaster Carr but it is better to get it from the aircraft shop. Sometimes they have a short piece they will give you.

Here is the link for McMaster Carr. Minimum order is 5 ft. And it is not cheap $12.34 a foot. It does last a lot longer than any other tubing I have used.

Hi Stevie,

If you email me at clarabrownlee@rogers.com, I will scan that page of B414 Operator's Manual and email it to you.

Part # for original is 3045 325 r91. I will be surprised if it is available. Let us know if you check.

I notice the S/N of yours is 2671. Mine is 2672. I replaced that same hose a few years back with one from CIH. I see Messicks still have it available at around $59.00. What a coincidence. Out of interest where is this tractor located. Mine is in southwestern Ontario.
