Does anyone know of a place to get rod bushings for my 450. I could only find them at Case IH but 76$ a piece seems high.

I don't know if this site sell them or not but try agkits.com...they have them from $5 to $10.

Bates wants 96$ a bushing. This seems un reasonable anybody else have any ideas. Machine shop said they could make some out of brass. These would not be like stock, they have metal where they contact the rods, They said this should be okay. What do yall think? I may have to for 20$ a piece, cannot see paying as much for the bushing as I did for the overhaul kit.

Can't believe they are that high now. After checking I see them from $58.?? to a $160 plus each.
Can still get the bushings for the C-264 engines before they changed the C-264 to the same rods as a C-281 for $10 to $15 or a little less. Also you can get the adapter bushings to put in previous rods to use the C-281 piston pin size in older rods for a little less than than the 450 bushing. And I thought they had got way to high. Both those bushings are bigger than a 364921r1 bushing. Think someone in the supply chain is taking us to the cleaners.
YT has reconditioned small pin C264 and 281 connecting rods listed for $146.?? and just the bushing for $112.??.

I did have a set laying around for my super M but I don't know what diameter they are. They were from tisco about 20 years ago. I can check and see what they are and let you know.

Brass is a common pin bushing material. The clearance is way tight, so a pin fitting machine using a hone is best practice. most are fit to .0005 to .0008" looser and it will make noise. Jim

I'll speak up so you can hear me. AGKITS.COM $5 to $10 each. I've ordered stuff there and have had no complaints.

364913 won't work, to small. 450 uses # 364921R1. I couldn't find 364921R1 on that site.

It states the 364913 is for the c281 and others, this is agkits part number. Is the 364921R1 a farmall number?

364913 is a IH number also, agkits just left the R1 off. That bushing is for 6 cylinder engines like used in some 460, 560 and others.
Not sure, but think agkits should have put 282 in the listing instead of 281.

I see, I have a 450 gas that I'll be overhauling some day so I'm trying to figure this out so I can get the right ones when I order parts. On my 460 I had to hone out a little bit on the rods to get the proper fit. I think this is pretty common but I have not done a lot of them.

Last night I found the ones I have. They are tisco # 45748-dar and they have clevite 01251 stamped in them. I don't know if they would fit a 450 or not.
