Was a 6ft. sickle an option from john deere or was 5ft. the only option? I have an MI with a Detroit Harvester brand 6ft. sickle mower on it is that factory or did someone put it on later?

If it was a municipal/county unit, they may have made the choice. HTH

The 6' foot cutter bar was an option for the MI-7 industrial mower. I have a 5' cutter bar on my MI-7. I can email you a copy of the owners manual if you would like. You wouldn't happen to have a tool box on the rear of the tractor that you could share some pictures of?

Yes, if you dont mind to send me a pic of the owners manual that would be great. My email is jhh5@windstream.net I just bought this tractor out of the weeds so i can restore it and i got it in the shop and noticed the sickle mower on it was Detroit Harvester. I don't know much about these and i figured it would be a John Deere mower. So im surprised to see that so it had me wondering if some MI were shipped from the John Deere plant with Detroit Harvesters on them. No mine does not have a tool box of any kind on the back.

I have an MI that was used by the DOT in my state, and it has a 5" Detroit Harvester mower on it.
