Does anybody know if there is any weight difference between the frame on a John Deere 730 diesel versus a 70 diesel and if the 70 is lighter will it fit on a 730. Just kicking around some other ideas for weight loss. Thanks for any input.

The parts list shows the 70D frame as a AF3701R, which has 4 different casting #'s associated with it. A 720D shows AF2777R up to 7214899, which subs to the AF3701R which shows for S/N's above that. Sooooo....., it appears that they are interchangable, with the possibility that any particular casting # may be slightly different in weight than another. Chances are that you need to look elsewhere for weight savings. Mike

Mike - That's good information, but I don't believe those parts you are referring to are "frames". What is Deere's term for those parts? - J.P.

Thanks for the info and reply, I really appriciate it. I tried getting on JD parts the other night to do some investigating myself but had no luck getting the pdf files to load properly for me, always been kinda hit and miss for me on their site.

How light are you trying to get to? I have my 720D down to 7500, rarely does well in that class. About the time I think I'm going to abandon the class it pulls out a win and I keep going back. ha ha ha
It does the best in 8500.
