This morning a good friend, who has worked for me the past several years called. Justin is a young man fresh out of high school and working for an HVAC company. He is an outstanding young man and I have appreciated his help on my farm more than words can describe. He has a desire to start his own cow herd and is going to hay some ground this year. He has slowly been acquiring some old tractors and equipment. Today he called and asked if I would help him get a D17 AC home from Paola, about a hour and a half away. He helped me carry in a load of wood to our basement then we loaded up the pickup with chains and spare tires and took off. We had a great time and our trip was flawless. I am very proud of him.

Y'know, when I finished school and went to work "in town" I kinda lost track of the letters and numbers on tractors. I don't know how old that tractor is, but it looks to be in very good shape, and I know the loader is a big plus. Glad to hear you had a good day, and although I don't farm anymore, you know what they say, "You can take the boy out of the country, but you can['t take the country out of the boy!" Well, I have always lived in a rural area, just have not been able to farm. Good to hear that there are a few young people coming along, to fill a few old shoes. |
