I needed to get the heck out of the shop for awhile, so I took Sat. afternoon off and looked at this 870 and ended up purchasing it. Its a nice straight tractor and seems to run OK, but like most 40 yr old's does need a little TLC. Today will be spent in the woodshop making bowls cause thats whats on the honey do list. Its nice putting the wrenches down and making a little saw dust for a change, Rod.

Rod,
That looks like a nice 870. Is it a gasser? Did Case make an 870 in a diesel model? I have only seen gasser's. Did you find this tractor close to home? I would love to have an 870 some day. I always thought they were a very nice sized tractor for smaller farm jobs. I have a neighbor that had an 870 like this one you just bought many years ago that I used to haul grain with in Fall and pull a spike tooth drag in the spring. Great ol' tractors. Thanks for pics. By the way, the bowl looks really cool too. Is that for the peanuts in the Case cave along with the " GB Premiums"? LOL Take care

Kurt, In this general area almost all 870's are diesel. We got this gasser to fix up alittle and my son will use it as his acreage tractor. I can repo the 730 diesel he has been using. As for the bowls my wife and daughters fight over those darn things, I'll have to keep putting the peanuts in a cardboard box, LOL, Rod.
