onao points 16 hp twins

my friend has a sears 1975 tractor with a onan 16twin,,he also has a onan 16 hp twin that is a 1976 motor for spare and the points in the 76 are totally different he says the76 has a plate on the side to access the points instead of box lid like the old one anyone familiar with the newer style,,like how to adjust/ thank you

the onan twin from that time frame most likely
would have been a BF engine.
the stock points box assy. was 160-1158.
points were R/R and adjusted from the rear.

one of the BF options, was a top adj. points box.
you could adjust point setting/timing while
the engine is running.
the stock set up is a P.I.A. on many applications.
