Hi guys. I know nothing at all about MH"s. I am looking for a tractor to do some square baling with on our 20 or so acre hay field. I"m used to using an AC WD-45, which I don"t have any longer. A fellow I was talking to said he has a 135 which runs and operates well, has hand and foot clutch, and is ready to go, but has weak hydraulics on the 3-pt. He wants $1200 for it. It also has a Freeman loader on it. Not knowing any more than that, what do you guys think? |

Farmer,
A 135 MF is a great little tractor, but weak hydraulics can be a very costly problem to fix.
One thing to remember when buying any type vehicle:
The vehicle with the lowest initial cost may not prove to be the less expensive in the long run, depending on required maintenance cost.
Buy the tractor that is in the best mechanical condition you can afford. You can always paint and powder it up later. |

A 135 is an MF, not an MH. Do you mean hand and foot throttle? They don't have hand and foot clutch. A running 135 with a loader is a steal for $1200. A non running one might even bring $1200. What engine is in the 135? The Perkins diesel is the most desirable but they're all good. The hyd's might not need much to fix, maybe just a fluid change and the strainer cleaned. Can't say for sure but $1200 is cheap. |
