Well guys I just finished my 1956 45 combine that was only used for one fall before it was put in a implement shed and started every year until 1963 when it was not started again until I got it started this January. All I had to do was change the points, plugs, wires, coil, rebuilt the carb and she fired right off, separator even works good! I cleaned up the paint with TKO cleaner, compound and wax/polish- no new paint. Figured up it took 283 man hrs to bring it to its current shape. Its got the hume reel, 10' head, bat reel, #10 Corn head (in same shape as combine),scour clean, owners manual, set up book, service manual, and some spare parts. Combine is now at its first show which is kind of cool its the 2013 AG Connect show in KC (this tue, wed, & thu.} and there for the US Custom harvesters 30th anniversary in its Evolution of Harvesting display. I am considering selling this combine to help with a down payment on my first home place farm, but I have no idea what it would be worth. Last pic is my friends that helped me bring the old girl back to life.

That is one fine job. I have waxed a few combines (especially when I was young and my Dad made me)and it is not as easy as it looks. Lot's of small areas to get in to. Great job. Bob

I would not sell it. Money can always be earned but one of a kind pieces of equipment may never be able to be replaced. A sky high price would be maybe $10,000. It could also bring not even a third or half of that.

A few extra hours at work or save a little by not going out or something and you will have the money equal to the combine in a short while.

I have kicked myself for years for selling an AC WD 45, diesel, wide front end tractor thirty years ago. I bought it at the original owners sale. I gave $1500 for is and sold it two months later for $2000. I thought at the time I was in tall cotton. I had made $500. I was making that each week at work so it was not a super big profit. I have watched for one even half as good as that one and the junk ones bring double what I sold that good one for.

It is yours to do with what you want. If you do keep collecting you will kick yourself for years to come if you sell it.

I just got back home from two days at the Ag Connect
show and enjoyed looking at the vintage combines
there. Your"s is in amazing shape when one
considers it is essentially all original.

Drop me an email and give me an email address or a phone number. I might know a buyer for your machine.
