I have a 1964 Ford 4000 heavy duty industrial tractor with a 4-speed transmission and according to the service manual there are (listed as 2 required) spacer's transmission shifter plate Part # CONN 7B443A and look like they are located between reverse gear plate and 2nd and 4th gear shift plate. They look like a square washer. I would appreciate any information about their function and exact location in the transmission. My transmission does not have them in there. Also, is there anyplace to purchase them. Thanks for any information.
Also looking for input shaft part # C3NN7C244A for Sherman forward/reverse transmission.

I believe it to be original transmission but who knows? According to the information stamped on the bell housing it is the right transmission.

According to the Ford Parts Diagram on Messicks website they are NLA and they were used in 4 speed transmissions starting in 1955 which was the first year of X40 production which indicates they were not used in the 4 speed used in the 8N nor the NAA. Maybe you can find a NH dealer that still has some in stock. Your best bet is probably used ones. It looks like the lower end of the shifter fits in the hole in those

well.. Smile of course the tranny will match the stamping.. because that stamping is ON the tranny.. that's circular logic!

a date code check on the tranny and the chassis / block could be done to see if they are within a few months of each other. Smile
