I am working on this 1952 8N for my neighbor. It has some thing on it that I have never seen before on an N series. In picture # 1, Is this seat an original Ford 8N seat? In picture #2 , What are the sprocket looking things on the outside of the rear brake drums and what are they used for?

Seat is not original.
Sprocket thing drives an implement - possibly a planter. |

As HCooke said.
Bruce had a picture of one of those sprockets on his 8N too.
I think he said it was chain drive for a corn planter. |

Seat isn't original. Sprocket is to run something like a fertilizer side dresser |

The seat was manufactured very well, has seat adjustment and only fits on a Ford. (Not a homemade job) |
