Are you sure it is not a home-made tractor? Never
remembered a spoked rear wheels on any garden
tractor. Unless it may be a walk behind type.
If it runs $300. GGP |

That sounds like a late forty"s economy the early ones did have chain steering and rear spokes. Could be worth 150-1,500 depending on condition and location pictures help. |

Where is this tractor located? If you don't want I would be interested.
I have seen them sell for $100.00 and up. Depends on condition, and how bad you want it or how bad the seller is wanting to get rid of it. |

What is the serial number? The tires are actually 6-22 on spoke wheels. The engine would more than likely be a Briggs ZZ. I am currently restoring #331 chain steer. Parts for engine are plentiful and fair priced considering age. There is a chain steer ownership registry that has been put together by the PK yahoo group. Price is what the owner would consider and what you are willing to part with. I paid 500.00 for a running tractor with the land plow and cultivators that were purchased with the tractor in 1947. The tires were shot. 6-22 tractor lug tires are going to set you back near $750.00 if they are needed. Original color was red. |

Hello, the Economy chain stear tractors were made from 1946 to the 1949. In 1949 they came out with a steering gear box. These tractors had 22 inch , 24 inch ,and 16 inch rear wheels welded to 1/2 by2 steel spokes. Some had hand brakes and some had no brakes. The 2 motors put on these tractors were ZZP Briggs and AEH Wisconsin.Ihave 2 1948 , 1has 24 inch rear tires and aZZP Briggs and the other has 16 inch wheels and an AEH Wisconsin . |
