From what I have heard, the factory turbos were mostly for higher altitudes for the LP models....Not 100% positive but that is what Ive heard..unless there were add ons later. I think there might have been on the A4T's. Someone on here will know more about them.

I dont think you will find any real "factory" turbos as production models (maybe expirmentals). You could get M&W's and possibly others but the Hi cube low rpm hi torque engines MM designed were not real turbo friendly and not designed to be.We ran one on a M602 but not for long. It seriously did nothing for that tractor. Oh I know they are out there just not factory that I ever heard of...Im sure somebody will argue

I think you are right. When I was in Vo-Tech I rememeber seeing an MM service manual that listed turbos, but only for use to restore horsepower to original specification not to increase horsepower. I think at that time, mainly on the G1000s.

The only ones I know of that show a turbo in the parts catalogs are in the A4T repair parts and supplement. The 504 diesel used in the A4T-1400 used a turbo on all of them. The 585 in the A4T-1600 had an "Altitude Compensator" that could be added & was listed in a supplement. The MM Engine Company that built 800 pwer units in Russelville, Arkansas offered a turboed THD 800 LP or NG engine.
M&W offered turbo kits for M5 thru M670 diesels as well as for G1000 thru G1050's. I never saw or heard of one for the 900 thru 950's

A4T-1400 with D504 engine had "factory Turbo" aka "Altitude Compensator" availble. also some G1000's and other "late" tractors got them added by dealers, as well as some LP-Gas models. the "factory" MM Turbo, was a M&W unit.

I will give my opinion. I think the turbo or altitude compensator was designed for the 504 diesel engine of the A4T-1400. I read somewhere a few years back that the A4T had a stronger (maybe thicker) crank than the G1000, 1050 etc. and only the A4T crank could take a turbo for prolonged periods such as farming. There are lots of pulling tractors out there with the 504 or 585 engine and a turbo. My cousin has a G1000 that he has lots of fun with.
