We have a 1955 FMD which we are in the early stages of restoring. After flushing the water course and oil system, changing filters and changing the cylinder head gasket we still have water leaking from the block. We are sure the cylinder head gasket is properly installed and have been told it could be the core plug. Can anybody tell me where to find the core plug on the engine block, as the workshop manual and internet don"t seem to have yeilded any results?! |

From what area of the block is it leaking? It"s been a long time since I"ve taken a close look at my FMD, so I went to the NH parts site. The diagram appears to show only two "freeze plugs", key #47, at the rear of the head and the upper rear of the block.
