I noticed oil level on dipstick had increased and smelled like fuel. I stopped running engine and checked the lift pump, seems ok. I replaced anyway. No help. It must be the injector pump seal. Replacement? seal or pump!

Before you go too far, check if the tractor has a heater element in the air intake manifold. These can sometimes go faulty and leak diesel past the rings into the sump. If it is not that or the fuel lift pump it is usually the seal in front of the injection pump....injectors can leak when the eengine is not running but usually not enough to fill the sump.
Let us know what you find....
Sam

Check the lift pump as Sam mentioned, this is the first place that usually leaks. Manifold thermostart can leak also, if removed it can be checked by trying to blow air through fuel inlet fitting while unit is cold. No air should get through if it is good. Last place is the injection pump, just resealed a 135 pump completely for the same trouble.

Hi, I wouldn't rule out a defective fuel pump. We
had a few over the yrs. Unbolt and pull away from
the block while the lines are hooked up and lv
overnite and see if it leaks. Chuck
