My 3600 gas tractor will start and run as long as I hold the key in the start position. If I let it go back to run position it quits running like it was shut off. I took apart the old switch and cleaned the contacts inside, didn t help. I put on a new switch and it still quits when in the run position. Any ideas or previous problems like this. Thanks in advance. |

Do you have 2 wires to the + terminal on the coil?
If so - one of the wires may be a resistance wire (sometimes purple) for the run position and the other is full voltage for the start position.
The resistance wire may have an open in it. |
