ALL engines have some blow by just the newer car/trucks have PVC valves to hide it form the common man. Do not judge it till you have run it to see if it takes a qt of oil every 2 hours or if it takes months to use a qt of oil.
By the way fill in the blanks as to how long it sat with out running etc. Could be as simple as doing an ATF treatment to unstick the rings

ditto what old said.

also check water and oil to ensure no mixing.

if it sat long i'd dose gas and oil with atf and run her.. then change oil.

thanks for advise i went ahead and pulled the head i will have it serviced and the cylinders look great so, im going to try a new set of rings and rod bearings.these tractor are pretty easy to work on and the parts are pretty cheap.if rings will do it i will only spend about $200 and a few hours.im restoring this one it should make a pretty tractor.i just sold my 541 and miss it already.i have not seen a decal set for the 2000 offset yet any idea where i can get one.
