The tractor locked up the other day. Determined it was the front
end and tore into it. Found the center diff was dry. Found two
bolts snapped off on the hup. The bearings on the pinion are
toasted but the gears look okay. Want to clean it all out and
rebuild the pinion. The manual shows several models with one
of two pinion set ups. I have a 1710 but the pic and description
are for another model. Pretty straight forward but would like any
information on the setup and shims ect. Is the inside bearing
pressed on? shims behind the front bearing? good place to
acquire parts fo the rebuild?
