My friend, Harold is celebrating his 85th birthday today. He has helped me a lot both in time and use of his equipment to get my own operation going. Harold lost his wife to cancer 2 years ago and has slowed down a lot since then, I sure miss his our conversations while fixing fence or working on equipment. Here are a couple pictures.

85 years ain't bad! Congratulations to him and to you for having a good friend. I have always felt that farming keeps you alive in more ways than one.

Harold is like my wife very friendly to the camera. I have used
her for my model for years even today at 87 she still takes a
better picture than I do.

Happy 85th to Harold. He looks like a good old Kansas farmer through and through. Lean and lanky with long arms and a long sleeved shirt. He's done a lot of work in his lifetime. Too bad he lost his wife. Jim

Erik Ks farmer,

Wish your friend a very happy 85th and many more! I bet he has great stories to tell... and he looks like a great farmer. Pretty special that he helped you get started farming... and special too, that you have the mind and heart to be appreciative.

Great photos of the two of you - the hay wagon one is really cool.

Happy Birthday to Harold and many more.
Erik, you should be very proud to have been a mentor like this man. Not everyone has such a wonderful oppurtunity to learn hard work ethics and hands on experience such as yourself from Harold. I bet he taught you more things in life since you have known him then you could have ever learned elsewhwere. I wish the both of you the best. My cap is off to you for sharing these great photos and short story with us. Thank you.
Kow Farmer (Kurt)

Happy 85th be sure to tell him.

Those are some great pictures Eric ks farmer.
I don't think there is anything that gets more respect and honor than those pictures of Farmers working and those who are in the military.

I appreciate the fact that you recognize the impact Harold has on your life. Ain't nobody that makes it all on their own in this world. We all got a helping hand somewhere along the line to get to where we are today.
Happy birthday to your good friend and mentor Harold, and thanks for introducing him to us Erik!

Happy birthday to Harold. I hope he has a great day. My grandpa would be 87, but he died 20 years ago, way to young. Been having some time tough times the last few weeks with farming and I could really have used grandpa's insight on some things. You're lucky to have someone like Harold to help guide your decisions while you're younger. Appreciate each day you have with your friend.
