Have a M the coolant plug in the cylinder head has rusted through at the bottom of the head where it meets the head gasket. Is this just a standard freeze plug and do I realy need to install a new one? |

The hole in the top, left, rear cylinder head requires a 1/2 inch square head pipe plug.
If the end of the complete heat indicator (temperature gauge) is installed in the cylinder block, then a 1/2 inch square head pipe plug should be installed in the cylinder head.

Do you mean rusted bad like this one in the red circle? (JD Part number M 460T)
If this is the one you mean, it's more of a flow restrictor than a standard freeze plug...looks like a washer. Why not replace it since you already have it this far apart?
