My computer is a refurbished Dell desktop with Windows XP. I use Avast antivirus. On Feb 9, I renewed and upgrade the Avast. Now the problem. On this site, When I try to go to page 2, the first post that comes up is dated Feb 14. I can not get to any posts other than the first page and then from Feb 14 on back. My insurance at work is Excellus BCBS. I have been doing the health tracker for rewards, and when I try to go there, my computer says the website has registry problems and blocks me. I checked at work, and everyone else can access the site no problems. When I click continue anyway, when it finally comes ,the page comes up to Feb 14 and will not let me get to todays date so I can enter my information. I think this is some problem with the Avast. Anyone know what to do with it?? I'm computer dumb, so speak slow and in simple terms please. Thanks, Chris

It's much more likely you need a browser upgrade. Which browser and what version are you running?

This sounds familiar. I seem to remember having this problem with a refurb job I had. I may be wrong but I think it had something to do with the internal date on the computer. It may not know what day it really is. Try resetting it.

Chris, I run Avast on at least 6 computers, from Windows XP through
Windows 8, and I install it for all of my customers who want a free option.
I have never had any trouble like you are describing.
What I would do if you think it is Avast, is uninstall Avast, and then re-install
it to see if that fixes the problem.
You can download Avast and save it to your hard drive so you don't have to
connect to the internet without antivirus software installed.
You can uninstall it by going to Control Panel under Add/Remove Programs, and then install it the normal way or by double clicking the file you saved.
If you have their full purchased product, you may have to re-enter your license numbers.
If that doesn't work, you may want to do a system restore back to a date
prior to this problem happening. I can help with that too if needed.

Double click on the time in the lower right corner and make sure the date, time, and timezone are correct.

OK, I managed to get the time, date and time zone changed. It was set on pacific time, Feb 9 at 2:30. I got it to central time and date and time are set right. I did some checking, I can go to page 2 on other forums no problem. It's just tractor talk that goes back to Feb 14 for page 2. Chris

I had the exact same problem opening up Yesterday's Tractors which I could not solve. I asked alot of people what to do including contacting YT website manager. All to no solution. After about 6 months everything began to work as it should. No clue what had happened. Fortunately, I could access YT every once in a while on my laptop while my desktop wouldn't open YT. Honestly, I got more done around the house when I couldn't read YT !!!!

In your browser, pick the "Help" menu option and then "About (name of browser)". For example, on my computer, "Help->About Firefox" pops up a dialog box that says "Firefox 18.0.2".

I believe the latest version of Firefox is 19.0, while the current version of Internet Exploder is 10. If your browser is much older than that (and it will be if you haven't upgraded since installing XP), you probably need to start with upgrading to the latest version of Firefox or IE.

I had the same problem with Ebay. I could not go beyond page 1. It was a problem with Intenet Explorer that finally fixed it self. I downloaded Firefox and used it to surf Ebay until the IE decided to work.

The date and time should be set automatically.
If it continues to be change, there is a small battery on your motherboard that probably
needs to be changed. Its something you can do yourself, just snaps into a holder.
Dell's website has the manuals free to download that will tell you how to
open the case and get to the battery.

For what it is worth, I am running FireFox 10 and I do not have any of the problems mentioned. I used to allow FireFox to do the automatic updates, but then they came out with version 11 which disabled a whole bunch of stuff that I used everyday. I dumped it, downloaded and installed version 10, and then disabled the automatic updates.
