Heres another tractor my dad had. My brother still has it ,Dad bought it after I moved and got married ,so I never ran this one much,My nephews learned to drive it when they were very young. Does anyone on the site have one ,or know some good stories? .It has cultivators, and my brother doesnt use it,he said I should use it in pa,I might take him up on that idea. See you all later,,

Larry@stines,

That is a really neat old tractor. Love the closeup shot - just enough rust to make it really interesting.

My brother still has my G/Fathers, I would compare it to my IH Cubs but with a little more power. Impliments are a bear to change. Not real easy to get on or off like the Fords.
As a cultivator tractor their pretty good for gardens the size you have.

There was a farmer near me growing up that had one. It was his only tractor and he supported his wife and daughter on that farm through the fifties and sixties. She was one year ahead of me in school. From what I remember he must have been milking around 25. He certainly had low overhead.

Did it have a JD built engine, or a Hercules?
Does anyone know about their engines? Maybe they
started with Hercules, and later started building their own?.
I've seen similar engines on pull type combines,
perhaps balers, was it the same engine? I've
seen JD balers with Wisconsin Engines!

Larry, From what I can see of the L A I would really think long and hard before I would restore - paint it. It looks very good in the pictures, and as we all know , you cannot unrestore a tractor. clint
