Saw on a local craigs List ad, someone is selling aparts kit to turn an insecticide box into a fert box. Obviously too small for real farming, but for plot work, looked kinda neat. Had a bigger auger, sprokets, and a angle auger cover that could be set open or closed, and a bigger hose to drop down behind the trench.

Was a bit pricy, $300 I think, or $250 without the box, but an idea anyhow. Donno if there is such a kit or if this guy is making the only one....

Got a link to the add? Be nice to see what it looks like. I've toyed with that idea, never thought about needing a bigger auger, though. Mark

Would be an awful lot of refills, going from ounces per acre to many pounds per acre.

Most guys plant about 5 acre food plots. Oe less. You can get about 180 lbs of fertilizer in one box. That would be about 140 lbs per acre. Good enough for food plot. But the plots aren't harvested, so a lot of nitrogen stays in there in all the residue.

That's pretty good engineering. Different sprockets for different rates, stainless construction. Wonder where the augers came from? Is that a 7100 planter frame? I saved the pictures for some brainstorming session in the future. Thanks for the link Paul. Mark
