My Mf 50 spring seat has had 12 inch bars installed to raise the seat. I want to get the torsion spring working again and lower the seat back down. The spring adjusting knob is frozen. Any tricks to freeing up this unit? Thanks, Jim.

Trac, This is the original MF seat. Shallow pan with two pipes holding a wraparound back rest, suported by 4 points off two swing arms with one arm attached to a torsion spring. I think the PO had long legs and needed the seat raised to be able to work the high clutch pedal. Jim.
