I've got a Massey 85 that has some hydraulic issues and need help. The power steering is sluggish, the loader raises very slow and the 3 point won't lift at all. We' ve checked the pump on the side and it is ok. Anybody know what else to check or what the problem could be. I'm stumped! Thanks in advance for any ideas. |

I am not an expert on the 85 but if you end up needing parts we have them.

When you say you checked the pump on the side, what work was done to it? Did you remove the pressure valve assembly and clean it? I've had two pumps that seemed good, but would not pump due to debris partially plugging the assembly.
How are you running your loader? If it is from the factory dual spool assembly it is going to be slow. That pump is not big enough to run a loader. Plus if you are running a loader from the factory valves you will not be able to run your 3pt due to the design of the hydraulic system. |

There's a screen filter that needs cleaning under the metal cover to the left of the hydraulic valves. 4 bolts to remove it. Drain some fluid first otherwise it's a messy job. Once you've cleaned it and put it back the system should work again. Make sure you open the valve just behind that plate under the seat, it's what shuts off the 3 point hydraulics. The pump on the right hand side of the case only does power steering and PTO system.
Cheers,
